Andromeda Strain (2008)

On the year that Michael Crichton passed away Ridley and Tony Scott made his "Andromeda Strain" into a mini-series, which included the original story, but went beyond that in many ways, including (SPOILER ALERT!) a virus sent back in time from the future. It would be a remaining sample of this virus what sets off the outbreak in the future in the first place. So basically we have again a closed loop, just as applies to The Terminator, which repeats itself indefinitely. It could be conceived, though, as happened in Fringe with the parts of "the Machine" and Peter Bishop, that in one of the iterations things went differently, with the whole of humanity being erradicated, for example. The loop would be interrupted and history would "need" to rewrite itself in order to avoid the paradox. But this is just speculation. In Andromeda Strain (2008) we just have the infinite loop to avoid the paradox. More about infinite loops han be found here: https://davedamian.wordpress.com/tag/the-andromeda-strain/

Regarding scores: It is indeed genuine time travel: 3. No mechanism is alluded to for it to happen: 0. The paradox is not ignored or hidden: 2. No visualisation of the trip through time is provided: 0. This gives a score of 302.0
